Pregnancy causes many physical, psychological and hormonal changes in the mother's body. Nausea and vomiting are common in early pregnancy. The causes of nausea and vomiting in pregnancy are not known with certainty, in general the causes are associated with hormonal changes associated with pregnancy. Action of acupressure Using pressure on certain parts of the body, such as the pericardial point 6 or three fingers under the wrist, acupressure can be used to reduce nausea and vomiting of pregnancy and acupressure is safe to do alone. The research objective was to determine the effectiveness of acupressure massage on reducing nausea and vomiting in first trimester pregnant women. The type of research conducted was quasi-experimental with a one group pretest posttest approach. Sampling using non-random sampling technique by purposive sampling. The sample used was 25 respondents. The research instrument was the 24-PUQE Scale (Pregnancy-Unique Quantification of Emesis and Nausea) questionnaire which was used to measure the severity of nausea and vomiting of pregnancy within 24 hours. Data analysis included Univariate and Bivariate analysis using SPSS. The statistical test results showed a p value of 0.002, it was concluded that Acupressure Massage Therapy was very effective in reducing nausea and vomiting. Acupressure Massage Therapy is a safe and non-invasive alternative. safe, effective and free of side effects.
